Data collection

OpenSol does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. The app has no accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking, or network service. OpenSol includes no third-party software development kits that collect data.

Files and on-device storage

Programs and virtual cassette images selected by the user remain on the user's device. OpenSol stores private local copies of recently selected program files so they can be reopened from Recent Programs. Emulator sessions, preferences, and virtual cassettes are also stored locally in the app's private container.

OpenSol does not upload these files or synchronize them through a developer-operated service. A file explicitly exported by the user remains in the location the user selected.

Microphone and experimental cassette audio

The experimental USB-audio cassette feature requests microphone permission only when the user starts an audio capture. Audio is processed on the device for cassette decoding and is not uploaded or shared by OpenSol.

The user may revoke microphone permission at any time in system Settings. All OpenSol features other than audio capture remain usable without that permission.

Retention and deletion

OpenSol has no server-side user data to retain or delete. Removing the app deletes its private local container according to the operating system's behavior. Files explicitly exported by the user can be deleted from their saved locations by the user.

Support correspondence

If a user voluntarily emails OpenSol Support, the message and return address are used only to respond to the request. Support correspondence is handled by the developer's email provider and retained only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request or meet applicable legal obligations. The sender may request deletion of support correspondence by emailing the address below.

Children's privacy

OpenSol does not knowingly collect personal data from children or any other users.

Policy changes

If OpenSol's data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before the changed practices are introduced.
